We are so excited to welcome back students tomorrow for the 2026-2027 school year! Our officers have planned a fun year for our FFA members and the Cowgers are ready to welcome students in all of our classrooms tomorrow!

Students! Course change requests are due to your counselor by Thursday August 27th at 3:00PM. Check out the Ag Department schedule and let either of the Cowgers know if you have a question about a class being offered.

Two weeks ago, four Juniors attended Illinois FFA Leadership Camp! They spent four days at camp, meeting members from across the state, working on leadership, and having a lot of fun! Members attending included Casey Horn, Grace Slanicky, Haley Stone, and Adrianna Udstuen. Also attending is Autumn Regal, who led a group as the Section 10 President.

Last week 5 members and the Cowgers headed to Washington DC for the National FFA Washington Leadership Conference!

Members attending included: Violet Eglar, Devin Lynch, Adam Murray, Charlotte Postma, and Bronson Schilling.

Our 5 attended WLC meeting members from across the country as they worked on developing their leadership and community involvement. During WLC, members sat through sessions, visited the monuments, the Supreme Court, and packed meals!

Before and after the conference, we spent time visiting and doing things in DC including a tour of the Capitol, planting flowers at the US Botanical Gardens, a river sightseeing cruise, the Holocaust Museum, the Smithsonian American History Museum, plenty of fun meals, metro rides, and bike rides around the city.

A big thank you to the Peotone FFA Alumni and Supporters for helping make trips like these possible.

And just like that… State Convention is over!

This afternoon at the final session, we had a few more recognitions before the final tap of the gavel to end convention.

⭐️Our Ag Communications CDE team of Kolten Koehn, Lindsay Villalobos, Charlotte Postma, and Kiersten Bettenhausen were recognized for being the 2026 State Winners
⭐️Chelsea Bennett and Lindsay Villalobos represented us on stage as the Section 10 Premier Chapter
⭐️Violet Eglar and Kolten Koehn represented us as a National Chapter Award National Finalist, signaling our chapter is in the top 10% of chapters statewide, and will be sent for judging with National FFA
⭐️Autumn Regal carried an American flag in to start the session as well as being inducted as the 2026-2027 Section 10 President, apart of the state officer team.

We had a great State Convention and are so proud of our members and all of their accomplishments!

⭐️7 STATE DEGREES⭐️

This afternoon’s session was extra special, as we watched 7 of our members, a record for our chapter in one year, cross the stage to receive their State FFA Degree!

The State FFA Degree is the highest degree that the Illinois FFA can give out to members. These 7 demonstrated leadership development, community service, and detailed records in their SAEs. We are so proud of them for their hard work and dedication over the years to their goals and the goals of our chapter!

These 7 could not have accomplished this without the support of their families through their SAEs and the support of our alumni & supporters for all of the FFA activities that we do! Thank you to everyone who helped these 7 receive their State FFA Degrees today!

A busy morning here at State Convention!

During the 3rd Session this morning, Chelsea Bennett was recognized as the State Winner in the Ag Processing Proficiency Area!

While the 3rd Session was going on, Lindsay Villalobos was helping in the Farm Credit Newsroom, editing photos and making them ready for press releases to be sent across the state!

Leslie Villalobos opened the session by presenting the FFA flag to the entire session in recognition of her 3rd Place finish in the Spanish Creed Speaking LDE!

While the session was going on, our Greenhand Quiz Bowl team competed at the state contest. We are so proud of the work they put in to win the section contest and then compete today.

The recognition will continue throughout the day for our awesome FFA members!
