Parent Tip Tuesday 💕

🚌 To get your child to open up about their first day of school, skip broad questions like "How was your day?" and instead ask highly specific, open-ended questions while giving them time to decompress. Broad questions usually get one-word answers like "fine" or "good" because kids are tired and overwhelmed after a long day.

🗣️Turn It into a Game

➡️ Roses and Thorns: At the dinner table, have everyone share their "rose" (the best part of the day) and their "thorn" (the hardest or lowest part). This makes sharing a family activity rather than an interrogation.

➡️ Rate the Day: Ask your child to rate their day on a scale of 1 to 10. If they say a lower number like 5, gently ask what would have made it a 6 or a 7
