Last Thursday and Friday, our Fall 2026 WEI students kicked off their journey with orientation, learning about the program, getting connected, and received their books and supplies! 📚📓✏️

The Workforce Empowerment Initiative (WEI) Program provides eligible students with support towards tuition, books and supplies, and wraparound services designed to help them succeed in college and prepare for career opportunities.

Today is the first day of the Fall semester, and we’re excited to see what this new semester brings!

Join us for the Great Neighbor Appreciation Cookout on Thursday, July 23, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Peoria Riverfront Museum (222 SW Washington Street). Enjoy an evening of free food, family-friendly activities, city vehicles and equipment, community organizations, and more! 🏘️ 🌭

The event will include: free food (Los Medranos Tacos and Tony's on Wheels Haddad's Restaurant) a lemonade truck (All Shook Up Lemonade), face painting (Zoo Lady and the Zoo Crew), a balloon artist (The Unique Twist), a bounce house (Heart of Illinois Inflatables), art activities, Kona Ice of Peoria, barnyard animals (Barnyard Discoveries), Paint a Snow Plow, 309 Sound: Professional DJ Services, the Peoria Police Department, Peoria IL Fire Department, and community resources!

As part of the 11th annual Great Neighbor Appreciation Week, this year's cookout will also celebrate America 250, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The Peoria Riverfront Museum will be open to the public, and attendees will have free access to all museum exhibits. 🇺🇸

Welcome Dr. Rolle! 👏👏

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Jamonica Rolle as the new President of Illinois Central College as she officially begins her tenure today. Dr. Rolle brings a strong commitment to student success, innovation, and community engagement, and we are excited to begin this new chapter under her leadership.

The community is invited to a special Welcome Event on Wednesday, July 22, at our Peoria Campus. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet Dr. Rolle, connect with fellow community members, and celebrate the future of Illinois Central College together.
