When students in Professor Gary Will’s Information Design course began a new class project, they weren’t designing for a local business or campus client. Instead, they were creating concepts that could help transform the experience of children receiving life-changing medical care nearly 8,000 miles away.

The project challenged Bradley students to think beyond traditional graphic design. Working alongside Chicago-based creative agency Rule29 Creative , graduate students at Kent State University, and CURE International CURE International , they developed concepts for a wayfinding and environmental graphics system at Beit-CURE Children’s Hospital in Malawi using color, illustration, and storytelling to help children feel more comfortable while navigating the hospital. The pediatric hospital provides more than 2,500 reconstructive and orthopedic surgeries each year at no cost to families.

The Graphic Design students will be showing their work again at Bradley University Heuser Art Gallery from May 11th-May15th. The reception is May 15th from 6-8pm.

Congratulations to Khadija Zahid-Butt on a successful defence of her MA Thesis, with a wonderful exhibition.
Also, a great progress presentation from Hallie a Fedorowicz, as she concludes the first semester of her MFA program - both are great adverts for the Art and Design Graduate program at Bradley University.

A busy day of presentation decks at Peoria Next, as the Brand Experience students (Art306) delivered their campaigns promoting a Specialty Insurance Company to the OneFire team. As always, thank you Jim Flynn for a particularly ‘challenging’ brief to round off a great semester, and well done all the students, who are now experts on specialty insurance 🤣
