Some early morning in-house training occurred yesterday at Lasalle County Sheriff's Office. Starting at 6am when the night shift concluded it's tour of duty and when the day shift started both shifts worked with each to preform High Risk Traffic Stops.

Ghost, I bet you thought we forgot that it was National Dog Day! Nope just a busy day for us here at Central Illinois Police Training Center. I sure hope Director Fengel got you a new toy to play with.

Ghost and Max, which is another CIT Therapy dog, attended the Open House/Back to School Night at Reservoir Gifted Academy on Thursday, August 13th in Peoria. The principal, Susan Martin, recently reached out to Director Fengel and informed him that their school counsellor had retired and took a therapy a dog into the retirement as well and asked Director Fengel if he would bring Ghost over which of course he did. Thank you to Max who volunteered to come up from the southern section of Illinois to attend this with Ghost!

The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, in partnership with the Cook County Sheriff's Office (Official), has officially launched a 24/7 statewide call-out line for our CIT Crisis Response Therapy Canine program.
Whether agencies are responding to a critical incident or planning a community event, Illinois now have a dedicated, single point of contact to request deployment.

This week Marseilles Police Department and the Oglesby Police Department jointly held two in-house trainings. Both classes were held at St. Bede Academy High School. The class was called GST Level 1 safe wrap. Below are just some of the techniques used to subdue a combative subject in a non-lethal situation!

Central Illinois Police Training Center was the site for another CIT Training this week. Numerous officers attended the class and went through scenarios with actors and had to show they knew how to speak to and handle scenes that may come up in their daily duties. of course, Ghost was on hand to greet everyone and participate should he be needed.

Thought we'd show the other portion of the High-Risk Traffic Stop course. Bradley University completed the classroom portion before going out and doing the scenario-based training. The entire class is required by the State of Il in order for the officers to get their state mandated hours.

Wow what a night Ghost had at Washington's National Night Out. Such a well-attended event. Ghost was extremely excited to see all of the people and could not believe how many people were there. Director Fengel and Ghost would like to thank the City of Washington and the Washington Police Department for asking them to come to such a great event!
