Children are born curious. 🔎

The Illinois Early Learning Guidelines recognize Curiosity and Initiative as an important part of early development because it is how young children naturally learn about their world.

At the Wonder Playschool, we create environments where children can experiment, make choices, create, and follow their own ideas.

We don’t have to teach children how to be curious.. we just have to give them the time and space to explore! 💜

Play looks simple, but your baby’s brain is hard at work!

Our role is to provide rich, hands-on experiences that invite children to explore these ideas through play.

Why does movement matter?

As our Explorers crawled through "jungle vines," they were strengthening coordination, balance, body awareness, and confidence. Obstacle courses like these also encourage children to think creatively, solve problems, and persevere as they discover new ways to move through their environment.

What does play teach?

What looks like a simple game is actually the beginning of mathematical thinking.

Our Explorers practiced one-to-one correspondence by parking one car in each "parking space." Through playful, hands-on experiences like this, children are developing early math skills, strengthening concentration, and learning to solve problems while doing what they do best—playing!
