Think about this and Covid: "In one study, people who saw information about 'a disease that kills 1,286 out of every 10,000' judged it as more dangerous than people who were told about 'a disease that kills 24.14% of the population.'" (Source: Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, 2011.) The probability of death in the first disease is 12.86%, yet the second disease was viewed as less dangerous because the second statement gave more impersonal impressions while the first used a large denominator of 10,000. Moral: Watch out what your mind is telling you about Covid.
