Our final team spotlight is Arizona College Prep High School!
This team has been going strong for 9 years with 100 members! This group loves having a good argument and are excited to watch their novices grow this coming season.

The next September team spotlight is Gilbert High School!
Historically, this team has been competing since the 1980s. This team of 17 students loves playing Cards Against Humanity during tournaments to pass the time, and are looking forward to having another “grand old time” this season.

Today’s team spotlight is Horizon Honors!
This is their third year as a team and they now have 24 active competitors. One of their favorite activities is “Witch” a “Mafia” based game where the students get to have fun becoming different characters. The team is looking forward to all things new: new members, new places to compete, and wonderful, new memories!

We pride ourselves in educating volunteer judges each season. ASDCA President, Jim Welty, spent yesterday morning holding one of our annual judge training seminars curtesy of Mountain Ridge High School.

This September we are featuring the amazing teams of Arizona.
Introducing the Brophy Prep Speech and Debate team! BCP has been competing since the 1960s 😱with currently 72 students participating. The team loves doing “pen drills” on the way to tournaments as a silly, fun activity to get their voices warmed up.

Congratulations to the following groups: Brophy College Prep and Arizona College Prep both received debate honors. BASIS Scottsdale High School received speech honors. Our Arizona World Schools team made it all the way to triples!

Three INCREDIBLE success stories for AZ students at the 2024 National Tournament last week! Mesquite High School's Polanges Bonaney placed 5th in Original Spoken Word Poetry. Brophy's Tim Jiang won top speaker in the nation. Arizona College Prep's Divya Natarajan placed 16th in Congressional Debate. We are so proud of these students!

AZ making strides National Speech & Debate Association national tournament! Congratulations to Mesquite High School’s Polanges Bonaney for making finals in Original Spoken Word Poetry! We can’t wait to see how she does! Also, BASIS Peoria’s Public Forum team of Rejul Guru and Sudeep Vattikuti placed 14th in the nation!
