Anneke Schlueter Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week Sophomore guard Anneke Schlueter (Ulm, Germany/Max-Weber-Schule) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after averaging 9.5 points per game in a pair of road contests last week.

Maura O’Brien ’17 discovered the complexity of life living in a cultural crossroads as a U.S. State Department intern in Ankara, Turkey. Three months at the city’s U.S. embassy helped her grasp new perspectives as news headlines unfolded on her doorstep.

Four hundred college students, including Bradley international studies major Dillon Brenner ’15, tried to solve pressing global concerns in four days at West Point’s Student Conference on United States Affairs. The Institute of International Studies and the Peoria Area World Affairs Council will host "The Migrant Problem in Europe: A Global Humanitarian Crisis?" This program and discussion will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, in Westlake Hall 116 at Bradley University at 7:00 PM. Will Ball, Caterpillar VP and board member of USA for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, will discuss Europe's growing migrant crisis, the majority of whom may be refugees who seek to escape war in Syria, Libya, Libya, Afghanistan and elsewhere. He will share insights from his work with the UNHCR as European countries look for help to register and find new places to settle these migrants.
Join us for “Understanding the Civil War in Syria: History, Politics, and Religion” on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the Bradley University Global Communications Center (Room 126). Parking is available directly across the street in the University’s visitor lot. Three Bradley scholars from the Institute of International Studies and the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies will speak about various dimensions of the conflict in Syria, and invite discussion with the audience. Panelists include: Dr. Shah Tarzi (international policy), Dr. Jason Zaborowski (religious studies), and Angela Weck (Russian studies).
