Happy Friday Parents!!! We wanted to say thank you to the Peoria Unified MET Professional Academy for hosting our first general meeting of the 2022-2023 school year and to all the Peoria Unified School District leadership and parents who attended both in person and virtually. It was great to meet you all.
Our first virtual Coffee Chat is tentatively scheduled for October 17th at 10 am. Once our guest speaker confirms, I will share all the information and the zoom link to join.
Just to remind you, we will vote on the bylaws in the November General meeting. To vote, your school must be a paid member of PUPC before this meeting (please let me know when you are ready to pay dues, and we can arrange a meeting). We also have various leadership positions available. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Just a reminder! Our first general meeting is tonight at Peoria Unified MET Professional Academy! If you want to participate in the meeting but cannot physically attend, please feel free to use the Zoom link. I hope to see you there! Please let us know in the comments if you plan on attending and if it will be virtual or in-person attendance.
Hi Parents!
As a reminder, our first general meeting is Monday, 9/18, at 5 PM at the Peoria Unified MET Professional Academy. This meeting is open to any parent in the district, and it is being co-hosted with the district's parent leaders meeting. Our goal is to provide a valuable experience to all parents. The first 30 minutes before the start of the meeting will be given to networking with the vendors, parents, and leadership. The focus of the PUPC agenda will be introducing the revised bylaws. After official business is conducted, we will hear from the MET academy about the programs offered for our children.
We will be zooming the official meeting and MET presentation starting at 530 if you cannot attend in person. The zoom information is below. Please let me know if you have any questions.

When I think of moments that make me , this is one of my top moments. It was an honor and privilege to lead community members, Midwestern University alumni and students, and Peoria Unified MET Professional Academy to donate sports physicals for Special Olympics Arizona. I was impressed by the level of maturity that these high school students had and how they were an essential part of our team. Everyone worked well together, had the opportunity to learn important information about the careers that they are either entering or thinking about joining, and gave back to an important cause. My husband (non-medical) was impressed at what these kids could do and how they acted with all the members involved with our outreach.
If you haven't heard of the Peoria Unified MET Professional Academy, you can see it firsthand next Monday (9/18) for our first PUPC general meeting. While it is going to be zoomed, if you are able to attend in person it is well worth it to see firsthand what these students are doing and how your child could be a part of this fantastic experience.
I am so excited for tomorrow! When I toured the Peoria Unified MET Professional Academy last year to learn more about what our children can experience, I presented the MedFest outreach to Chad and his team. Tomorrow MET professional academy students will work hand in hand with university healthcare students and licensed healthcare professionals from the community to donate sport’s physicals to Special Olympics Arizona athletes from low income areas in the valley. This is an unique inter professional service based learning opportunity.

So proud of this! At the first PUPC meeting I attended last fall, we brought up moving the volunteer process to earlier in summer so volunteers could be cleared in summer and start immediately when school started. This change in process was directly resulted from PUPC allowing parents and district leaders to meet and have meaningful discussions about what is being experienced.
Just a reminder, parents- City of Peoria AMPM program registration opens today.
