Prairie Home Nature & Science Outdoor Classroom Our learning style is experiential and often student-led in interest. We can all learn from our surroundings and from one another.

I am a University of Illinois Extension Master Naturalist and long time nature and science aficionado who started a nature group for homeschoolers in junior and senior high age. Prairie Home Nature Club is a group for junior and senior high homeschool students that centers around biology, geology, natural history, and environmental science. A typical twice-a-month outing includes some formal prese

ntation and discussion time, an introduction to the day's concept, hands on time in the field, and free-play. (You are never too old for free-play out in nature!)
