Hello, my name is Alyson Looney! I am so excited to be a part of the school and the community! I cannot wait for this amazing school year!

I am from Auburn, WA. I recently graduated from Washington State University. This is my first year teaching! I grew up visiting the Peoria area ever since I was little and going to the spring training games. I am so happy to be here!!

Ms. W started at Sunset in January, but we wanted to officially introduce her with our other staff members. 💙🧡 We are so fortunate to have her on our team!

Hi, I’m Ms. Wiedeman and I teach lower elementary resource! I am originally from Colorado, but moved to Arizona for school in October 2020. This will be my second year at Sunset Heights, as I began last year after graduating from Grand Canyon University in December! I graduated with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education, as well as a minor in Psychology. I have loved every part of being at Sunset Heights!
My goal in the classroom is to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, seen, and heard. I want any student in my classroom to be comfortable enough to push themselves, even if that means failing a time or two. I love learning and teaching. When I’m not in the classroom, I spend my time line dancing, paddle boarding, or having a pool day with some friends! I am looking forward to growing my community here in Peoria, and can’t wait to the opportunity to support each student!

My name is Jordan Christenson and I moved to Arizona last year, after spending all my life in Montana. This is my 4th year in education, but my first year in first grade! I live with my husband, son, and 3 cats. I like biking, traveling, and trying out new recipes in my kitchen.

Hi! My name is Jamie Reed and I’ll be teaching 3rd grade this year. This will be my 10th year teaching 3rd grade. But my 24th year in the classroom. I’ve taught all grades preschool-5th.
I love to travel, read, and spend time with my family and friends.
I have an 18 year old son who will be starting his Freshman year at ASU this month. Go Sun Devils!

Hello to my new Lion Cub family. I'm Mr. Kaatz and I will be your new principal. This will be my 25th year in education and 16th as an administrator. The 2024-25 school year will be my 3rd year in the Peoria Unified School District since moving here from Silverton, Oregon. I am most looking forward to meeting our students, their families, and our community members. Our staff at SH has already been hard at work in preparation for an outstanding year, and I am very fortunate to be serving alongside them. My wife also works for PUSD and we have two adult children, Halsey 25, and Drew 21. My favorite quote, and something that guides my decisions, comes from Ted Lasso- "Be curious, not judgemental!"
