What a day....what a season...and what a celebration! The arts are alive and well in Central Illinois.

As the sounds of performers from our local schools echoed across the downtown area today, hope for peace was heard far and wide!

Today marks the end of the 38th Annual Gerald M Brookhart Arts in Education celebration. Since April 20th, each weekday has featured the talents of local students across the arts.

Today we concluded with Peace Plays in Peoria. Many thanks go to Katrina Fitzpatrick and Mary Jo Papich for organizing so many diverse talents as we gather to show peace can and does play in Peoria.

Today featured the combined bands and orchestras from Peoria, Manual, and Richwoods High, Metamora High, Rolling Acres, Liberty Leadership Academy, Glen Oak, and Morton Jr. High.

Combined choirs from Manual, Peoria High, Metamora, Richwoods, Rolling Acres, Libertyville, Glen Oak, and Morton Jr. High also were featured.

Warith Muhammed entertained and inspired with an energetic rap performance of hope.

A huge thank you to so many who came together today and this season. Beth Crider and the entire ROE staff hosted each and every day as the accomplishments of students were celebrated.

The directors of every band, chorus, art, and drama group are true heroes! Thank you for all you do!

Thank you administrators and parents for all your support!
