📚✨ Small Groups, Big Growth! ✨🔢

In Ms. Mitchell’s kindergarten class, students receive targeted instruction in small groups based on their individual learning needs. Small-group instruction helps our youngest Mustangs strengthen their reading and math skills while receiving personalized support.

This important work supports two of Lincoln’s action items:

Meet one of our returning Mustang teachers, Miss Colwell! 💜🐴

Miss Colwell teaches 3rd grade and also serves as Lincoln’s school-wide SEL Champion and softball coach! Her dedication to supporting students both inside and outside the classroom makes her an important part of our Mustang family. We’re excited for our community to get to know her better!

Principal Monast and her team record Lincoln’s morning announcements so teachers can play them at just the right time for their classes! Students can also go back and listen again if they missed any important information.

🔴🔵🟡 Learning Through Sorting! 🟢🟣🟠

Ms. Moon’s kindergarten students practiced sorting and classifying objects! These hands-on activities help our youngest Mustangs recognize similarities, identify differences, and build strong early math skills.

This learning supports Lincoln’s Goal #2: Increase Math Achievement! ➕📚🐴

⭐ Lincoln K-8 Family Tip: Review Expectations at Home!

Families can support positive behavior by reminding children to listen, follow directions, stay safe, and remain engaged throughout the school day.

Regular conversations about expectations help students arrive prepared to learn and make responsible choices. This supports Lincoln’s goal of decreasing office discipline referrals and creating a safe, successful learning environment for every Mustang! 💙💛

Our two largest referral categories are disruption and aggressive actions. Families can help by practicing simple strategies at home: pause and listen, use words to solve problems, take a breath, step away, and ask a trusted adult for help.

Every positive conversation makes a difference as we work toward 20% fewer major referrals!

Lincoln K–8 is making incredible progress toward our school improvement goal! Major discipline referrals decreased from 286 in August 2025 to 132 in August 2026—a reduction of 154 referrals, or nearly 54%! 🎉

This far exceeds our goal of decreasing major referrals by 20%. Thank you to our students, families, and staff for reinforcing expectations, encouraging positive choices, and working together.
