There’s something beautiful about watching a caterpillar become a butterfly. 🐛🦋

Last week, Mrs. Anders shared with our students the amazing process of how a caterpillar changes inside its chrysalis before emerging as a butterfly. What looks like a quiet season of waiting is actually a time of incredible growth and transformation.

Just like the caterpillar grows and changes before becoming a butterfly, God is working in our students as they grow in His Word. Each day, His Word takes root in their hearts, shaping who they are and helping them grow to bear fruit.

We may not always see the changes happening right away—but God is at work. 🌱

As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

Let's give a warm welcome to our first grade teacher Mrs. Sara Kortz!

Sara is in her third year of teaching. She was born in India and moved to the U.S. when she was adopted. She grew up here in Peoria with a sister. Both of her parents are college professors which helped Sara choose teaching as a career path. She graduated from Peoria Christian High School and Bradley University. She earned her degree in Elementary Education. Her favorite part about teaching is getting the students excited about learning and leading students to grow independently. Outside of school, Sara loves to unwind with her favorite cartoon show, Scooby Doo. She loves to relax with her two cats. She likes to try new restaurants and go on road trips. She loves to listen to Broadway musicals. Her favorite way to worship the Lord is through music.

🎉 Join Us in Celebrating!

Our Concordia family is invited to celebrate as Mrs. Mary Farley is officially installed as one of our newest teachers. The installation will be held during Trinity Lutheran Church's 8:00 AM worship service on Sunday, July 26!

We are incredibly grateful that God has called Mrs. Farley to serve at Concordia. While Mary has been with us as an aide and a student teacher, this year, she will be teaching 6th Grade as well as Junior High Math and Social Studies. We know she will continue to be a tremendous blessing to our students and school community. 📚✝️

Today, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to two incredible members of the Concordia Lutheran School Board as they conclude their years of faithful service.

Serving on a school board is often a behind-the-scenes ministry, requiring thoughtful leadership, prayerful decision-making, and a genuine love for our school community. We are deeply thankful for their willingness to serve and for the lasting impact they have made.

Last Friday, we wrapped up another incredible school year at Concordia. We celebrated student achievements, recognized award winners, honored years of hard work, and bid farewell to our graduating class as they begin their next chapter.

We are truly blessed by the students, families, faculty, staff, and supporters who make our school such a special place.

What a FUN day at Concordia! 🎉

Our second-to-last day of school was packed with memories in the making. Students enjoyed buddy activities, bounced their way through inflatable fun, delighted with cotton candy, showed off some crazy hair spray creations, and even took their chances at the dunk tank! 💦

As another incredible school year comes to a close, we're thankful for the community that makes days like this so special. 🐾

What a weekend for Concordia Track & Field! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Our girls team finished **8th overall out of 40 schools** with just 7 athletes competing, earning a **Top 10 finish for the second year in a row!** 👏

⭐ Girls Highlights:
• Lily – 5th in the 100m, 4th in Long Jump, and 8th in Triple Jump
• Sariyah – 8th in the 100m
• 4x200 Relay (Sariyah, Myrtle, Maggie & Lily w/alternates Ka’mara & Molly) – 🥉 3rd Place and a NEW SCHOOL RECORD...twice! Breaking the record on both Saturday and Sunday!
• Ka’mara – 🥈 2nd Place in Shot Put

The boys team was equally impressive, finishing **4th overall out of 38 schools**, just **3 points shy of 3rd place!** With only 9 points separating 3rd through 9th place, every point mattered.

⭐ Boys Highlights:
• CJ – 6th in the 100m, 🥉 3rd in Shot Put, and 4th in High Jump
• Zayvon – 7th in the 110 Hurdles
• 4x100 Relay (Isaac, Zayvon, Dallas & CJ w/alternates Luke & Jayce) – 🥉 3rd Place and a NEW SCHOOL RECORD!
• 4x200 Relay (Isaac, DJ, Jayce/Zayvon & Dallas w/alternate Sam) – 5th Place
• Luke – 5th in Triple Jump
• DJ – 6th in Shot Put
• Sam – 5th in Discus

We are incredibly proud of ALL our athletes for their determination and sportsmanship. 🖤💛
