Every Halloween I think about this epic costume! I am always impressed by the creativity of my students!

I think Magdelana won Halloween! The keys are leftover from our piano dissection camp this past summer! I LOVE IT!

We had a great series of piano workshops this summer with plenty of fun, learning, and water balloons of course! Excited for lessons to begin next week!

I am so proud of my student Ellie who was selected as the pianist for the All-State Band. She had the opportunity to perform at UofA this last weekend under the masterful direction of composer and conductor Julie Giroux. Only two students from the entire state of Arizona were chosen to accompany, so this is a major accomplishment. Ellie’s incredible talent is matched by her beautiful and kind heart. Congratulations Ellie!!!

We had a blast at our Film Festival camp today making silent movies! The first group chose the horror genre, and the second group decided to spoof Hallmark romance movies 😂

We had a fantastic time at our piano dissection music camp this morning! The students got to take it apart, try their hand at tuning it, and got to keep and decorate some of the keys. We explored the history of the piano and took a computer animated trip inside to get an up close view of how the action and pedals work. I love music camps where I learn too! We finished the day by watching some videos of Peter Bence showing what you can do with a piano, a few pieces of technology, and ingenuity. The kids started spontaneously using their keys as drumsticks and we had a fun little impromptu band. It was a fun morning!

We had a fantastic recital series this weekend! To aid in social distancing, we held two separate in-person, outdoor recitals and one virtual recital where we had students join us from as far away as Montana and Alaska. I am so proud of all the performers. They did an amazing job! Not even a global pandemic could keep them from their pianos this past year. Their strength, resilience, and determination is absolutely inspiring. Love these kids!
