🚨 BARBER EXAM UPDATE — DID YOU KNOW?

If you’re preparing for the barber licensing exam, here’s an update you may not have heard yet:

The PSI National Barber Theory Exam is now 95 questions — 85 scored questions + 10 pretest questions — with 120 minutes to complete the examination.

That means preparing with outdated information or old practice tests may leave you studying for an exam that has changed.

At Mr. Glass Tonsorial Christian Institute, we believe students should know what they’re walking into before test day.

✅ 2-hour testing period
✅ Safety & Infection Control remains a major area of emphasis

And beginning October 1, 2026, Illinois barber theory examinations are also available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.

Today at MGTCI, we went beyond simply identifying barber tools—we opened them up and studied how they actually work. Students examined the internal components of clippers, including magnetic motors, wiring, blades, and mechanical parts, connecting classroom theory to the equipment they use behind the chair.

Understanding your tools creates a better barber. When you know what’s inside, how it functions, and what causes it to fail, you’re better prepared to maintain your equipment, troubleshoot problems, and protect your investment.

This is barber education beyond the haircut. This is MGTCI.
