If you’re new here, I thought I’d start with four things you should know about me.

I’m an opera singer, an accidental entrepreneur, and someone who’s passionate about helping artists and organizations tell stories that connect.

But more than anything, I’m building a life centered around meaningful work, freedom, and family.

Around here you’ll find the behind-the-scenes of building businesses, performing, creating, teaching, and figuring it all out in real time.

I could never stick to the habits that led to a healthy lifestyle, and for a long time I thought it was because I wasn’t disciplined enough.

Discipline was not the problem. I had convinced myself that I needed everything to be in place before I could begin. I needed the workout clothes, the shoes, the routine, and somehow I thought once I had all of those things, becoming “healthy” would finally click.

After my third baby, something shifted.

I stopped treating the beginning like it had to look a certain way. Most mornings I walked around my neighborhood in my pajamas because I knew that if I stopped to change, I’d probably end up doing laundry, answering emails, or finding another excuse not to go.

The things that have changed my life the most didn’t begin when everything was in place. They began when I decided that where I was was enough to take the next step.

I’m still very much in the middle of this journey, but I’m learning that momentum isn’t something you find after you’re ready. It’s something you build because you started.
