Instant tears! This was a message from a former 8th grader I had. She came to America and literally spoke no English… now, she’s attending a university in Arizona, and doing amazing things! As a teacher, my students will always be my babies!

It has been great getting back to tutoring! Started out the new year with a 3rd and a 1st grader who are both making tremendous progress! January is TOUGH with all three of my kids’ birthdays. 1/25 will be the next Saturday for library tutoring sessions. In-home availability is VERY slim, but reach out to inquire! I no longer make or try start a new year with resolutions, but that doesn’t mean I don’t reflect on the prior year, and make goals for myself for the upcoming new year. Spotlight of the week: look at those sentences! Pre-writing is such an important skill to teach, even for second graders. We brainstormed for his Thanksgiving paragraph and I’m happy to say… he wrote 95% of these sentences entirely on his own, today. Proud of you, kiddo! Is your child behind with writing? Change can be good. New service agreement and cancellation policy have been created. A slight price increase will also go into effect 1/1/25, but current clients are locked into their current tutoring rates until the end of the current school year! New client special to celebrate Black Friday! The first session is where I collect all of the baseline data and can tell you the levels I am seeing in reading/writing, for your child. This is crucial for planning future customized lessons!

This week is National Education Week! The week preceding Thanksgiving is dedicated to celebrating the amazing work being done in our nation’s schools. I’m honored to have become a teacher. I love doing what I do and making a difference. My students really do mean the world to me!
