Ms. Amritha Pravenn, a Junior at Stevenson High School, was nominated as the top 10% at our IJAS State Science Exposition 2023. She was selected as a ThermoFisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge Top 30 Finalist and had the opportunity to participate in the competition's finals in Washington, DC. Amritha will be hosting a "Tips & Tricks" online Zoom meeting on May 23rd from 10 am -11 am. We would like to invite you and your student to attend.

Congratulations to Anda Wattanakit, a Illinois Junior Academy of Science student board member, IJAS Newsletter co-editor, and a junior in the IB program at Richwoods High School, for making the Illinois All-State Journalism Team! Only 17 students in the entire state were selected, and Anda earned her spot with her incredible talent and dedication.

As the editor-in-chief of The Shield, Richwoods' student newspaper, Anda writes standout columns like Alumni Spotlight and Heart of Peoria. Anda is also the co-editor if the IJAS newsletter, she has been instrumental in the new design and the addition of new inspirational interviews.
