Helping little hearts discover the joy of learning. 🌿💛

Once you get the opportunity to spend even a few minutes with Miss Bethany, you'll probably notice two things right away—her joyful spirit and her incredible patience. She has a way of making every child feel welcomed, valued, and capable.

This year, we're thrilled for her to lead our Little Explorers classroom (K-1st grade)!

For more than 13 years, Miss Bethany has served children through preschool, Montessori education, public schools, individualized tutoring, and children's ministry. No matter where she's been, her mission has remained the same: helping children feel seen, loved, and confident in who God created them to be.

She believes every child learns differently, and her classroom reflects that. Through hands-on learning, creativity, movement, and plenty of opportunities for wonder, she'll help our youngest learners build strong foundations while discovering that learning is something to enjoy—not just something to do.

We can't wait to watch little hearts grow in confidence, curiosity, and faith under Miss Bethany's guidance.

📸 Meet the Team: Miss Heaven

Growing confident learners with curious minds and Christ-centered hearts. 💚

If you've spent any time at AHA this past year, chances are you've already met Miss Heaven! From jumping in wherever needed to serving our students and families with a joyful heart, she's become such a special part of our community.

This year, we're so excited for her to step into the role of Pathfinders Guide (2nd–4th grade)!

Miss Heaven believes every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and capable. Her classroom is a place where students are encouraged to ask questions, try new things, learn from mistakes, and grow in confidence—all while building a strong foundation in Christ.

With experience in autism education, a background in ASL interpreting, and a passion for hands-on, child-led learning, she brings both creativity and compassion to everything she does. (And yes... your kids will probably come home teaching you some sign language too! 🤟)

We can't wait to watch our Pathfinders learn, grow, and discover all that God has created them to be under Miss Heaven's guidance.

Awaken Hearts Academy is hiring a Little Explorers Lead Guide for the 2026–2027 school year! 🤍

We’re looking for a nurturing, relationship-centered educator who loves children, values whole-child learning, and feels called to Christian microschool education.

This position includes:

Here are some things we did the last week! Talent show, water day, and build your own drink station. We also played jeopardy to review our content learned in history and science, played board games, conducted progress checks, and had our last class store along with a giant auction! Most of all, we enjoyed signing our yearbooks and spending time together 🙂

✨HAPPY MOTHERS DAY✨

What a wonderful thing it is for the Lord to trust us with his angels. We are blessed to have this calling as mothers and none of us hold this responsibility lightly. We pour everything into these children daily, so let today be a day of rest and pour back into yourself! Happy Mother’s Day to our amazing moms. Thank you for pouring into our school with the same care as you do at home. We love and appreciate every single one of you!

As we have been learning about space, we will be making our own planets! This week we teamed up with both classrooms to make paper mache planets ☺️ This gave us a chance to work with friends we never get to work with on a normal day! We used a mixture of water, glue, and modge podge for our paste and used newspaper and construction paper for our outer layer. Once dried, we popped the balloons and we will paint them next week. We ended our day being space crafts to get out all that pent-up energy! We are excited to present all our crafts at this years’ annual showcase!!

Come with us to experience a typical in Little Explorers! School shouldn’t be just about academics. Here in Awaken Hearts Academy, focus on the child’s heart first. This allows us to see them develop as a whole. When a child feels safe, loved, and nurtured, the rest comes naturally. We have seen our kiddos break the glass ceiling this year after experiencing so much care from their teachers.

He is risen!! Recalling the price Jesus paid for us reminds us how immense God’s love truly is. How beautiful it is to know he thought of each and every one of us, even before we were born. Our school honored his sacrifice all week through various activities, books, and heart to heart conversations on what he endured in order for our sins to be forgiven. Finally, we ended the week with our annual Easter Egg Hunt! Congratulations to our two students who found the golden eggs! We hope you all have a very Hoppy Easter 🐰🐣

Little Explorers were fooled GOOD this year! Mrs. Sam found a new mysterious bird that has been sited in our area. Our friends did not shy away from the challenge to catch one, or at least find one in sight, today. They were given steps to lure the bird and put them into action. Then when they couldn’t find one after some time, they went to the bathroom to read a note that read APRIL FOOLS. The funny thing about the bird is it was called a Sloof Lirpa which is actually “April fools” backwards. Once they read the bird’s name in the mirror, they realized they were pranked all along 😂 we have fun here
