New hydraulic pumps completed and ready to go back into service
These had some specific mounts installed for some equipment the customer uses and the original pumps were so worn out they constantly leaked. He asked if I’d machine some new parts with standard components.
I used 1/2” chrome plated rod stock for the piston rod. I decide to add the wiper to help prolong the life of the rod.
Turning 1/2” diameter piston rods for the new hydraulic pump cylinders.
The manual lathe is equipped with Walter Tools for all of the turning, grooving, threading and parting needs.
Machining the wiper groove in the new hydraulic pump cylinders.
Micro 100 had the perfect sized carbide grooving tool I needed for this small 1/2” bore.
Machining new pump cylinders for a couple bottle jacks. The bottle jacks that these will go to have a custom configuration to a specific application and the customer simply wanted the worn out pumps replaced.
The Micro 100 Micro-Quik carbide boring bars worked perfectly for these small bores.
I machined new piston rods too and will share more in follow up vids.
Adding a simple 1/2-13 hole to the center jaw to make lifting and installing these TMX double station vises easier on my back 🩻👴🏼
The Master Fluid Solutions Trim Mist and Tap Heavy tapping fluid helps give the cutting tools the lubricity they need while the Kaeser Compressors, Inc. powered Flexarm handing the tapping needs.

Hot job for the local cabinet shop. 2-7/16 shaft with 5/8” keyways.
The Titan USA end mills continue to give great performance for our keyway milling while the Master Fluid Solutions Trim Mist provides the coolant needs.
Abby did a wonderful job cleaning and organizing my display cabinet!
I’ve had this cabinet at my home office for years displaying various viewer gifts, vintage machinist tools and workpieces.
Now it’ll be used to display our products, CNC jobs and a small selection of vintage machinist related items.
The CRC Industries Hydro Force glass cleaner helped get all of the glass and mirrors polished up nicely!
Big thanks to Abby AbomAdventures for helping with this project and making the office look more presentable 👏🏼

It’s been a while since I brought out the big boy!
This is my 60inch No. 123 Starrett master vernier caliper that have never been used, still wrapped in the original packing from the factory.
I’ve had them put away for years, but finally brought them down to the shop. I’ve never had a job to use them on but I do have a couple things in the shop we can measure for some fun.
I managed to acquire this caliper through a trade years ago.
What’s the biggest caliper you own or have used?
