Finishing up turning down two pin bosses for the welding shop. The ole Pacemaker handled them nicely. Once I had the welds and torch cut areas removed I was taking .250” per pass.

Pin bosses that have to be turned down. Great job for the American Pacemaker.

This was a job for the welding shop. Two pin bosses that were too large on the OD and impeding movement on the equipment. They simply needed turned down to a specific size requested.

Single point threading an 1-1/4” pump shaft after cutting and facing it to 60” long.
1-1/4”-10 Left Hand threads.

My Walter Tools MX22 handles the threading and undercutting.

I keep the sump topped off with Master Fluid Solutions Trim Microsol 685XT

Customer needs an existing pump shaft cut to 60” and rethreaded 1-1/4-10 left hand.

Pump shop needs a bushing turned down for stuffing box. The expanding mandrel & 4 jaw chuck came out to play on this one.
It’s nice getting to help them out with these simple lathe jobs.

My Dad’s large expanding mandrel came in handy for the final facing op.

Boring this tube adaptor for a new bushing. I don’t know what steel this part was made from but it cuts and sounds like 4140, even leaving some beautiful finishes.
I was very pleased with the performance of the MAQ 1-1/4” boring bar. They claim it’s anti-vibration and after a few jobs using it, I believe em. The finish was beautiful 👏🏼

Interrupted turning? No problem.
The pump shop needs this tube adaptor modified to accept a larger bushing and cut off to a specified length. The amount of wear this old part has makes it a bit difficult to hold securely in the chuck.
So we set it up and turned down the section that will be cut off so that I can chuck it in the 4 jaw chuck to bore it out as needed.

Join us at the booth at on September 17th from 2-4pm.
In the Kaeser booth, you’ll see some of their air compressor equipment live and have a chance to speak to their compressed air specialist about optimizing your shop.
