Coffee w/ the Principal - April 24, 8:15am 04/17/2026

Please join us for our monthly “Coffee with the Principal”. This is an informal time to visit with the principal, other administrative staff, and fellow community members.

This month we will address an important topic for parents, digital safety for kids

Ms. Taylor Sparks from Gulf Coast. Kids house will be our presenter for this event.

This information is very useful for all parents. I think fifth grade parents will find it especially useful as your child transitions to middle school and is exposed to more online content, including social media platforms.

One of the fifth grade science standards is for students to understand the water cycle and be able to create models to demonstrate the processes involved. Mrs. Paduani’s class showed their knowledge by creating water cycle models through various forms of visual art. After completing their projects, the students then taught fourth grade students about the water cycle and their chosen method used to illustrate the process. This is one of the many examples of arts integration you can find here at NB Cook.

Our students expressed the theme "I Belong!" in their Reflections projects in so many creative ways! One popular theme is "I Belong at N.B. Cook." From pickles to pictures of the building, it's nice to know that so many kids feel safe, happy, and welcome at our school!

More Reflections updates on the way later this week! 👀

Celebration 10/01/2025

N.B. Cook's Drama Teacher, Jean Odom, has decided to retire at the youthful age of 81! She has been a staple of our school since its magnet inception, and she will be greatly missed. She also had many ties with our local theatres and assisted with numerous performances over the years. We are planning a retirement celebration in her honor and would love your help. Please click on the following link to RSVP and to help where you can. Please let me know if you have any questions!
