Our Story

I’m Lara McKnight and I love to write.

Sometimes I’m also an accidental poet.

I’m a freelance writer with extensive experience in proper grammar and correct word usage. I owe my grammatical prowess to my nagging mother, my 5th grade English teacher, and a phenomenal and consistently-expanding village that always leads me (and sometimes pushes me) to grow and improve. Please note I used that Oxford comma.

My professional writing experience includes freelance work as a columnist and blogger for the Pensacola News Journal and their website, Pensacola.Momslikeme.com. My parenting column, "Teen Talk,” was published bi-monthly on the front page of the News Journal's “Life” section.

I have also worked as a writer and editor for the marketing department at Pensacola State College. I’ve edited several books for Candy Publishing, and I am a regular contributor to “The Other Woman” magazine and menopausalmusings.com. I am currently working with Footbridge Media as a freelance website content writer with a focus on SEO.
