Dr. Jennifer Hurtt, IPT EDD doctoral student who recently defended her Dissertation in Practice, spoke at the Georgia Educational Technology Conference in Atlanta on November 2nd. She presented "Easy Ways to Improve and Market Your Media Program." The session combined insights from her Dissertation in Practice with innovative strategies for media program enhancement.
In addition, Dr. Hurtt has applied to present at the upcoming Georgia Children's Literature Conference in Athens at the University of Georgia in March.

Jason Bock, an IPT EDD doctoral student, won the runner-up award in the inaugural UWF 3-Minute Thesis competition! Please join us in congratulating him! Jason delivered an exceptional presentation on "Institutional Engagement with Online Students."
This competition was hosted by the UWF Graduate School and the Office of Research Administration and Engagement as part of the 1st Annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) event. The 3MT® challenges graduate students to present a compelling speech about their research and its significance to non-academic persons in just three minutes using only one presentation image.

The 2023 International Convention was held from October 15–19, 2023, in Orlando, FL. IDT students and faculty members attended the convention, delivering outstanding presentations and joining the prestigious academic community in our field.
Here are some notable achievements from our faculty members:
Dr. Kim received three awards this year: Emerging Learning Technology Award (1st Place), Distinguished Service Award, and System Change Leader Award. Dr. Handley was recognized for the AECT Addie Kinsinger Leadership Development Intern Class.

While our primary focus was on innovation in education during the CPED23 Convening, we also cherished the connections and friendships that blossomed. Our IDT faculty and EdD students had loads of fun, from heartwarming networking lunches to spontaneous group selfies. It was more than just education; it was a community coming together.
