Senior buddies became shopping buddies when our kindergartners visited the I:55 Book Fair!

These seniors enjoyed discovering more about their buddies’ interests and walking down memory lane to share some of their past favorite books and characters.

What a sweet way to share a love of reading across generations! 📖 📚💙

Mrs. Davis’ 2nd graders recently enjoyed reading the classic story Charlotte’s Web. The book is a beautiful story about friendship, loyalty, and kindness. After finishing the book, students painted their own webs and watched the 1973 movie adaptation. 📚🕷️

When it came time to choose a favorite between the book and the movie, the class had a tie! Half of the class voted for the book, while the other half chose the movie! 📖🎬

Last Tuesday, high school students in select dual enrollment classes and a few teachers and administrators had the privilege to experience a theatrical reenactment of one of the most memorable public debates of the twentieth century: the historic 1965 Cambridge Union debate between writer and civil rights icon James Baldwin and conservative author and commentator William F. Buckley Jr.

The powerful reenactment gave students a unique opportunity to engage with history, consider differing perspectives, and reflect on the importance of thoughtful dialogue in shaping our world.

🐎Yeehaw! Our I:55 Reading Round Up Book Fair has blown into town and will be open from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. every day this week.

📚Students in K4 - 8th grade will shop with their class during a scheduled shopping time.

⚛Our Book Fair will also be open Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. during Science Night! Come visit hands-on science stations, purchase pizza and concessions from our senior class, AND shop the I:55 Book Fair.
