AE(A1) School House

AE(A1) School House Aviation Electrician's Mate (AE) "A" school Today, the AE school operates in Pensacola, Florida “The Cradle of Naval Aviation”.

The Aviation Electrician’s Mate rating was established over 70 years ago with the implementation of more technically advanced aircraft. The school has had many changes in both complexity and location; its history is as follows:

Originally established in 1942, Chicago, Illinois and then moved to Jacksonville, Florida in the mid 1950’s. Remaining in Jacksonville through the mid 1970’s, it was relocated to Millington, Tennessee and remained there until 1996. Everyone that flies or maintains a naval aircraft starts their training here. An area rich in naval tradition, naval heritage, and naval history.

More than 1,400 Sailors assigned to NATTC participated in the first annual NATTC Sports Challenge Olympics onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola July 13.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) students and staff competed in the 1st Annual NATTC Sports Challenge Olympics event aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola. An event organized and led by the NATTC First Class Petty Officer Association (FCPOA), the Sports Challenge was focused on promoting teamwork and camaraderie amongst students and staff alike. The NATTC Avionics Department emerged victorious in the Tug of War and Overall competitions, congratulations!
