Coding using our VexCode V5 software is an essential part of our PLTW Automation and Robotics curriculum. Here we see a new robot build being tested by students. Our coding is block-based, but students can see the equivalent code in python and C++ text.

Project-based STEM education with technology and physical literature are both immensely important for modern learning. Our students have opportunities to interact with multiple different paths of learning!

Puzzles and mind-games that promote fine motor skills are a great way for students to take a "brain-break" after a writing or STEM lesson! This type of activity is still stimulating problem-solving intelligence and visual-spacial skills.

Recently, some of our students attended a field trip to Pensacola State College's planetarium and space theater. This field trip aligned with our current PLTW STEM topic of Space and Flight. Our students loved the experience, and we look forward to attending more PSC showings in the future!

A big thank you to one of our volunteer parents: Dean Emmets for helping us remove our old playground set! This was a BIG first step in updating our play area for our students, and we could not be more appreciative. Over the next several months, we will be working to refresh our outdoor areas on campus. One of the next steps for our playground will be adding a new base layer and a top protective layer of rubber mulch or padding. If you know volunteers or contractors in the community that would be willing to help us with this project, please reach out to us. We have also begun the process of ripping out remaining old garden beds to make way for new ones. Our goal is to create a new school garden and activity garden for the students to have outdoor classes around. We are looking for volunteers to help us create these new garden areas. If you have a passion for gardening and working with children, please let us know if you would be interested in helping with these projects!

Our school is partnered with Project Lead The Way (PLTW) to offer exciting STEM courses to students. PLTW STEM courses allow students to use hands-on learning to facilitate critical thinking with real-world concepts. These courses empower the students to explore different disciplines both individually and in pair work. PLTW also trains and certifies our educators in their different STEM pathways such as: Automation and Robotics, Flight and Space, and Computer Science. We are proud to be identified as a PLTW distinguished school for this school year and the 2026-2027 school year!

Did you know that we are a Personalized Education Program (PEP) school? The PEP program allows families receiving the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship to use a hybrid-style education plan. This means families can facilitate homeschool-style learning while their student(s) attend an in-person school program 2-3 days a week. Giving parents more options and choices over their student(s) education. If you're interested in learning more about the PEP program and how it is used in our school, please reach out to us at: [email protected]
