In Lockport, Louisiana, an affordable housing development, Les Maison de Bayou Lafourche, was nearly unscathed after Hurricane Ida. Built to the FORTIFIED Multifamily™ standard, Les Maisons was able to house many of the families displaced after their apartment complex, a 1/2 mile away, was destroyed.

It takes years of work before results like these are seen. Our persistent advocacy for beyond-code construction has led to disaster funding being used to rebuild to FORTIFIED standards across the US. Through our work, thousands of families are better protected from displacement, and the financial ruin disasters can create.
