💲 Financial Literacy Meets CTE at PHS💲

Last week, students in the Skilled Trades Academy at Pensacola High School had the incredible opportunity to learn from Jenni McKinney of Synovus Bank, who delivered an outstanding presentation on financial literacy! Ms. McKinney covered essential life skills and financial concepts that will help our students make smart financial decisions now and in the future.

The students were engaged, excited, and asking great questions throughout the session. Partnerships like these make a real difference in preparing our students for success beyond the classroom.

🌟 CTE Spotlight: Digital Discoveries Program - Ransom Middle School🌟

This week, we're celebrating the incredible work happening in Ransom Middle School's Digital Discoveries program! 💻✨

Our students are diving into the exciting world of technology and media production, building skills that will prepare them for tomorrow's careers. From creating digital content to mastering media concepts, these future innovators are getting hands-on experience that matters.

🎓 Big News: Students enrolled in the program have the opportunity to earn their Social Media Strategist Industry Certification — a real credential that gives them a competitive edge before they even reach high school!

We're so proud of our Digital Discoveries students and the dedicated educators making this program a success. Keep shining, Tigers!

Friday, August 12, five Washington High School students, each of whom received $2,500 from the Pensacola Mayor's Scholarship, had the opportunity to tour the ST Engineering hangar facility at Pensacola International Airport. This visit provided them a valuable opportunity to learn more about local careers in aviation and the pathways to achieve their goals. ✈️ After the tour, each student attended a luncheon at which Pensacola City Administrator David Stafford presented each student with a framed letter on behalf of the Mayor's office.

Way to go, Wildcats! 🐾

Congratulations to our Construction Career Days scholarship recipients! Also, a huge thank you to the professionals who invest in our students and make this event possible.

At Tuesday night's School Board meeting, Elizabeth Graham, PE (professional engineer) and Construction Career Days Co- Chair, along with Ricky Branton, PE (professional engineer) and Construction Career Days Finance Committee Chair
joined us for a special scholarship presentation.

These two were instrumental in providing an amazing opportunity for our high school juniors and seniors to participate in the Northwest Florida Construction Career Days last February.

Students from every high school participated in the all-day event. A number of our Board Members have also attended this event.

Eleven students have been awarded $2,000 each, and 28 students will receive $500 each, totaling $36,000. This is a remarkable achievement!

Last week, Northview High School Seniors showcased their skills as they hosted a fabulous Kentucky Derby luncheon for their final exam. From the invitations and decorations to the preparation and presentation of the dishes, these students used their creativity and talents to produce an event that truly embodied the traditional Southern elegance of the Kentucky Derby. Well done, students!

Mrs. Salter, thank you for your dedication to teaching and providing opportunities for your students.

We also want to give a shoutout to Mr. Korinchak and his Agriculture students for growing and providing mint for the culinary program. This kind of collaboration between career academies makes CTE truly special.
