Mrs. Benson’s 5th grade class has been learning about matter and its properties, and today they put their learning to the test with an exciting density lab!
Students poured different liquids together and made observations as they watched some liquids stay separate instead of mixing. They also explored how different objects traveled through the layers at different speeds and settled in different places based on their properties and density.

Mrs. Gaines’ 4th graders explored magnetism as a physical property of matter, testing classroom objects to determine which had the property of magnetism! Hands-on science makes learning stick! 🧲

Our first graders have been using the scientific method to investigate: Do clean hands have fewer germs than unwashed hands? They made a hypothesis, conducted an experiment, and are observing their bread samples to collect data! 🧫

We’ll be watching their bread samples closely—and taking this as a pretty good reminder that clean hands are happy hands! 🙌
