Five and a half weeks.

That’s the difference between the before and after you see in this video.

I’ve been having some digestive issues, so I went back to something I’ve done for years:

Experiment.

Pay attention.

See how my body responds.

Adjust.

I tightened up my food considerably, went back to a stricter paleo way of eating, started consciously CHEWING my food more, and even started paying attention to my posture while I eat and work.

And my body responded.

Now my damn skirt falls down when I put my phone in my back pocket. 😂

I’m not telling you to eat the way I eat.

Your body isn’t my body.

But I AM suggesting that we pay attention to what our own bodies are telling us.

Nutrition matters.

Food quality matters.

And as we get older, giving our bodies the raw materials they need to keep us strong matters a whole hell of a lot.

First look at how my mornings start. Folks are asking for more of my day to day life. It feels weird but here I gooooooooo.

The numbers changed.

So I’m changing the plan.

When I arrived in Colombia on May 15, my U.S. dollars bought substantially more Colombian pesos than they do now.

By August 27, it was costing me about 21% more in U.S. dollars to buy the same amount of pesos.

That’s a BIG change in a little over three months.

Add to that the fact that the unit I’m renting is now pricing out considerably higher for another month, and staying in Santa Marta stopped making financial sense for me.

Here’s the advantage I have:

I’m fluid.

It’s a colossal PIA to keep moving 😂, but I’m not stuck.

I can make a lateral financial move to Panama City, get housing around what I’ve been paying here, be closer to old friends AND operate in U.S. dollars.

So I reassessed the circumstances.

And made a decision.

I’m leaving Colombia a month early.

Next stop: PANAMA. 🇵🇦

I’ll take you through the process as I figure out the rest.

And make sure you’re on my email list if you want to follow along there too. Link in bio.

Women 55+ aren't dealing with just one challenge. We're getting squeezed from multiple directions at the same time.

Housing. Money. Work. Healthcare. Aging. And often we're trying to figure out several of them at once.

In Episode 3 of Starting Over at 62: My One-Year Experiment, I talk about the multiple crises facing older women—and why figuring out what comes next isn't always as simple as making a new plan.

Old. Bold. Not Dead Yet.

**CHANGE IS COMING AGAIN.**

The plan was to stay in Santa Marta through the end of October.

The plan changed.

I’m paid here through September 29th, and I’ve decided I’m going to leave about a month earlier than I originally anticipated.

I’ll explain WHY in the coming days.

But first...

I’ve got a decision to make.

And this time I’m going to take you through the process with me.

I’ve got to build:

A thoughtful plan.

An economic plan.

A safe plan.

And ultimately decide where the hell I’m going next. 😂

A lot of you keep asking me how I make these decisions.

Well, you’re about to watch me do it in real time.

Research.

Options.

Money.

Trade-offs.

Contingencies.

And eventually—a decision.

Stick around. This should be interesting.

And if you’re not on my email list yet, I’ve got a couple of free resources waiting for you through the link in my bio.

Sometimes growth brings s**t up in ways we don’t expect.

I’ve had a hard week.

It took me a few days to recognize what was actually happening:

**My work is triggering some old trauma.**

That doesn’t mean I stop the work.

It means I have to make room to deal with what’s coming up instead of stuffing it somewhere and pretending it isn’t there.

For years, my response was to stay in my head.

Calculate.

Solve.

Fix.

Keep moving.

But you can’t THINK your way through everything.

Sometimes you have to move out of your head and actually feel what’s underneath all that problem-solving.

I’m getting better at recognizing it.

I’m getting better at dealing with it.

That doesn’t mean it’s easy.

And I think that’s worth sharing too.

Moving forward doesn’t always feel like progress while you’re in the middle of it.

Sometimes it’s messy.
