Yesterday was the first day back to school for Baldwin Early Childhood Learning Center! The smiles more than outweighed the tears as our pre-kindergartners started an amazing journey of learning!

High Five Friday at Delair Elementary

What a wonderful way to start the day at Delair Elementary! On Friday, Sept. 11, Delair continued its High Five Friday tradition with members of the Pennsauken Police Department, including K9 West, welcoming students as they arrived at school. Students were greeted with smiles, high fives, and words of encouragement, creating a positive start to the day.

This High Five Friday was especially meaningful as we observed the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, a day dedicated to remembering those who lost their lives and honoring the courage of police officers, firefighters, first responders, and others who helped their communities.

Having our officers and K9 West at Delair was a wonderful reminder of the importance of building strong relationships between our students, school, and community. Their presence helps our children see our officers as trusted and caring members of the Pennsauken community.

Thank you to the Pennsauken Police Department and K9 West for making High Five Friday so special and for continuing to support our Delair students!

Every Friday, Carson students show their school spirit by wearing their Carson T-shirts! Students are welcome to wear their Carson shirt with uniform bottoms each Friday.

With the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, Pennsauken held two events to mark this solemn occasion. Pennsauken Public Schools was proud to join members of our community in remembering and honoring those affected by that tragic day.

During the Township’s annual American Flag Placement at the Pennsauken 9/11 Memorial, Board of Education members, staff, PHS Leo Club members, and school families helped distribute more than 2,000 American flags throughout the memorial site.

At today’s remembrance ceremony, hosted by Pennsauken Township, PHS Concert Choir members Zipporah Jones, Giana Nesmith, Janai Nesmith, and Stephanie Malo beautifully performed our national anthem.

We thank Pennsauken Township for providing these meaningful opportunities for our community to come together as one — to remember those who lost their lives 25 years ago, honor our first responders, and reflect on the important messages this day evokes.
