As we wrap our Summer Camp this week, we want to thank Right At School for putting together an amazing program of activities for our students. Our kids are having a great time staying active and having fun!

Last month, the halls of Pennsauken High School were buzzing with curiosity and creativity during the Spring STEM Carnival! Students proudly showcased innovative projects from several science classes, giving classmates a hands-on look at the concepts they’ve been exploring.

One of the biggest attractions? A bounce house that turned fun into a physics lesson! Students didn’t just jump — they explored real-world concepts like force, gravity, energy transfer, and motion in action. Who knew Newton’s laws could be this much fun?

A fantastic event celebrating discovery, creativity, and the excitement of science at Pennsauken High School!

At Franklin School, an annual tradition of service and generosity continues to thrive thanks to the vision of former teacher, Sandy DeSimone.

To help raise funds to fight childhood cancer, Mrs. DeSimone began Alex’s Lemonade Stand several years ago with the help of Franklin’s student council, which was made up of one student selected from each class by their teacher. Together, those student leaders organized community service projects, including visits to a local food bank and bringing cheer to nursing home residents around Halloween and Valentine’s Day.

The addition of Alex’s Lemonade Stand gave students the opportunity to support a cause larger than themselves, while learning the importance of giving back. Each year, the stand grew in popularity. Students soon added a spirited “Penny Wars” competition leading up to the big event, filling pretzel jars during lunch periods in a fun and lively contest that brought the whole school together.

When Mrs. DeSimone retired, and later passed away, the Franklin community felt strongly about continuing the lemonade stand in her memory. Even though the school no longer has a student council, the annual stand each June has become a beloved tradition that students eagerly anticipate.

This year, Franklin School raised more than $1,300 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Over the past 19 years, the school has collected well over $50,000 to help fight childhood cancer, a powerful legacy of Mrs. DeSimone’s passion for service and her lasting impact on the students she inspired.
