Last week, we celebrated National Custodian Appreciation Day, and we made sure our amazing team felt the love! 🌟

Our custodians (Mary, David, Mike, and Brian) work tirelessly behind the scenes every day to keep our space clean, safe, and welcoming. From early mornings to late nights, their hard work keeps everything running smoothly, and we are so grateful for all they do.

To show our gratitude, we showered them with delicious treats, created hand-made appreciation posters, and made sure they knew just how much they mean to our community!

Swipe through to check out the posters, the celebration, and the incredible faces behind it all! 📸👇

Driver Spotlight: Steve Michael (Bus 225)

If you're looking for someone with deep roots in our school community, look no further than Steve Michael on Bus 225!

Steve is RCPS through and through—he attended RCPS schools from start to finish as a student! Education and school spirit are truly family traditions for him; his wife, daughter, two sisters, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and niece have all worked or currently work for RCPS.

A lifelong farmer, Steve has lived on a farm his entire life. He is a proud father of two and a grandfather to four wonderful grandkids. He officially joined our bus driving team in the fall of 2023, keeping our students on Bus 225 safe every morning and afternoon. When he needs a quick snack, his go-to favorites are Reese's Cups, popcorn, and a cold Dr. Pepper!

Next time you see Bus 225, give Steve a big wave! Drop a comment below to welcome Steve and thank him for his family's incredible dedication to our RCPS community! 👇

Last week, our 1st-grade classroom transformed into a full-fledged hospital for Human Body Day as part of our CKLA Knowledge unit!

Our tiny medical team stepped into the roles of surgeons and doctors to perform "operations," crack codes in a hospital-themed breakout box, and explore how incredible the human body really is. Hands-on learning at its finest! 🩻🧠❤️️
