Hey everyone! I haven’t been very good at communicating with my phone these past couple of days. I got the flu from someone from the event and I’m at WAR! If you messaged me just give me some time, I’m on the struggle bus.

Holy moly guys.
I was NOT PREPARED for that turnout!!! But my gosh the patience and kindness everyone had despite the crowd makes me so happy to live here.

To the people who signed up for a time slot and didn’t get it I’m truly sorry. From the bottom of my heart. I thought maybe 20 people would show up. I put down time slots for 15 minute rides. Then when everyone showed up we had to make the trail ride literally 1-2 minutes to get all the kids on the horses and we had to move everyone to the back acre. So when you showed up I wasn’t able to acknowledge that you were there and move you up in the line because I was in the back acre. And my innocent bystander friends who saw the surprising amount of people stepped in to help and had no idea I already had people scheduled because none of us knew that this many people would come. I didn’t even know there would be a line. Feel free to reach out to me for a free joy ride 🩷

Everything that I planned and thought went out the window and we were on survival mode. Our goal changed to just getting everyone on a horse lol. But my gosh was it so freaking fun!!!

I definitely did not mean to disappoint anyone. I truly wanted to just have fun and give the gift of horses the way God gave it to me. It was all with such good intentions I swear lol but holy moly was I just inexperienced.

To my friends and lucky pastures family who just volunteered and stepped in, and even complete strangers who put together the fire. I am so so blessed to have you and gosh am I so thankful. Because of you, one person got to check off their bucket list “riding a horse”. Because of you kids will remember this. Because of you several special needs children felt safe, smiled and laughed. And I literally have no way in the world to repay you.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A LEARNING CURVE FOR ME! lol. But wow what a blast.

Unfortunately with the crowd I didn’t think about our septic backing up. Soooo I need to cancel lessons tomorrow to deal with all of that. Plus the horses are exhausted lol. I’ll reach out to reschedule and I’m so sorry to cancel.

Full disclosure that this is not going to be super fancy. lol This is a very last minute planned fun thing for us to do. It will not be like halloween wonderland. But it will be halloween related and super fun. So warn your kiddos that they may not be impressed with the display. It'll be more activity focused. Feel free to roll up your sleeves and help. 🎃🐴 Okay, so apparently my weekend decided to be weirdly EMPTY… which almost never happens 😂

So naturally, my first thought was: “We should probably put some kids on horses and make Halloween happen.” 😂

Would anybody be interested in doing a little Halloween horse get-together this weekend?!

I’m thinking something super casual—kids can take turns riding, we could do a little trick-or-treating on the trail, maybe play some games, make a few crafts, and just let the kids hang out and have fun. 🐴🍬🎃

I don’t exactly have a Pinterest-worthy Halloween setup over here 😂 so we’d definitely be working with what we’ve got! But honestly, I think that could make it even more fun.

I’m free Saturday afternoon/evening and all day Sunday. If enough people are interested in doing something at night, we could even throw together a campfire, s’mores, and Halloween shenanigans. 🔥👻

So… who’s interested?!

Comment when you’re available and throw out any ideas you have. If enough people want to do it, we’ll figure out the details!

Basically, I’m saying: I have horses, you have kids, and Halloween is happening whether we’re prepared or not. 😂🎃🐴

Welp I had a vet appointment that was extremely unexpected in such a good way. But also in a hilarious way. And if you don’t believe me ask Greg Bennett (the amazing vet) lol.

Y’all, Potato isn’t limping. HE’S just awkward! Greg used all his little tools to test his feet and legs and potato showed no signs of pain. The way his hooves look and are growing are not showing signs of navicular.

However he just isn’t a smooth ride. He’s uncoordinated and just a big ol dork 😂. Greg even checked for spine issues that could contribute to his awkwardness and debunked that idea.

Potato has never been a smooth ride. But there were some movements he was making that made me believe that he was limping so I wanted to be careful. Apparently if he hasn’t been trained in a while his Tennessee walker awkwardness can start to show lol.

Onto pancake.
I’ve been laying awake at night worrying and worrying about her and her weight.
Greg however isn’t too worried. Is she skinny? Yes. But he said just to add more grain and try electrolytes. He did a very thorough evaluation and she’s perfectly healthy and said we not only can keep riding her, we SHOULD keep riding her.

She did bruise her foot, probably from the gravel so it’ll take a bit for her to heal from that. But other than that, Greg says she’s great and to keep riding.

I honestly can’t tell you how shocked and relieved we all are and I’m sure you are too. But the Lucky Pastures horses are on the mend and good to go❤️❤️❤️❤️🍀🍀🍀🐴🐴🐴 thank you all for your support and flexibility during this time of horses needing help. You all are amazing.

This Lucky pastures family has been nothing but an absolute blast and I’ve met the most wonderful people ever.
