DNCR Intern Spotlight: Meet Kaylee Evans, North Carolina American Indian Heritage Commission Intern.

Kaylee worked closely with Director Quinn Godwin to raise awareness of American Indian tribal people in North Carolina by preserving, interpreting, and promoting American Indian history, arts, customs, and culture. She is an enrolled member of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe with matrilineal relations to the Lumbee Tribe and attends Columbia University.

Today our Secretary, Caylee Collins, represented NCNAYO at the Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening ceremony of Robeson CTEC in Pembroke! She was able to tour the new building and hear about the great opportunities that will be offered to students. Thank you Caylee for attending!

We want to take a moment to show some appreciation for our Mister and Miss NCNAYO and everything they have done so far!

Since taking on their titles, they have shown up, made appearances, supported NCNAYO, and represented our organization with so much pride. They are both continuing to be positive representatives of our youth and our communities.

Being Mister and Miss NCNAYO is about more than wearing a crown or holding a title. It is about showing up, making connections, and being someone others can look up to. We are so proud of the way they have stepped into their roles, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of their reign holds!

Thank you both for representing NCNAYO with such gratitude and positivity!
