Be Prepared For Milton
As we prepare ourselves for another hurricane this week, our first concern is your safety and that of your families.
With the knowledge that there will be power loss, and the Broward county schools are already closed we have decided to close the center on Thursday, 10thof October ,2024.
Please contact us if you plan to collect the homework on Tuesday, October 8th by 1:00 pm or if you want to schedule the class for Saturday, October12th between 10:00 am to12:00 pm.
Happy Diwali to everyone who’s celebrating!

Dear Kumon Family,
At Kumon of Pembroke Pines West our students’ health and safety is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19).
With that in mind, we are taking additional steps to prevent the spread of germs in our center. We have:
• Made hand sanitizer available at the front desk and in the Parent Waiting Area.
• Placed tissue boxes on every table.
• Implemented stricter cleaning processes, frequently cleaning all commonly- used surfaces.
Staying informed is one of the best ways to stay healthy. You can obtain current information from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization:
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Information about Coronavirus
• World Health Organization: Coronavirus
Instructing your children of the following standard precautions can help reduce the risk of infection. Here are a few tips from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention:
• Teach your children to wash their hands often. Washing with soap and warm water for at least 30 seconds is ideal. (That’s about as long as it takes to sing the “Happy Birthday” song twice).
• Teach your children the proper use of hand sanitizer in case they do not have access to a sink for washing their hands. Gels, rubs, and hand wipes all work well, as long as they contain at least 60% alcohol and if the hands are not visibly soiled. Hand wipes must be disposed of properly. Always read and follow label instructions when using hand sanitizer.
• Teach your children to keep their hands away from their face and avoid touching their mouth, nose, or eyes when possible.
• Teach your children to cover coughs and sneezes with tissues or by coughing into their sleeve or the inside of their elbow – not their hands. If a tissue is used, it should be thrown out immediately.
• The Kumon Center will remain open during center hours . It is your decision to bring you child for the class or pick up the work .
• We will accommodate for the make up classes once everything is clear .
If you suspect your child has contracted any illness, it is important that he/she does not attend school, Kumon, childcare, or anywhere else other people would be exposed to germs.
Thank you for your help in keeping our children and our Kumon Center healthy. If we all practice good hygiene, health officials believe we can limit the spread of the coronavirus and other viral illnesses in our homes, schools, and other places where people gather.
Thank you,
Meher Rahman
