Please join us September 3, 2026, at 6 PM in the Donell Theatre at the Wolfe Center for the Arts at BGSU as we celebrate these young artists, followed by the exhibition viewing.

The FOCUS Show is officially open, and the walls are now filled with the creativity, imagination, and voices of some seriously talented young artists from Northwest Ohio & Southeast Michigan.

Shadow & Silhouette Art (Ages 10-13)

Instructor- Jennifer Moorman

Explore how light and shadow can transform simple shapes into striking artwork. Students create high-contrast silhouettes and layered scenes using drawing, collage, and cut paper, then experiment with light to bring their designs to life.

Paint & Color Studio (Ages 10-13)

Instructor- Jennifer Moorman

Learn the basics of color through hands-on painting. Students explore mixing primary, secondary, and complementary colors, creating gradients, and using color to show mood and depth. Each session includes guided exercises and finished paintings to take home.

Explore sculpture through clay and mixed materials. Students will learn basic building techniques while creating fun, hands-on projects.

Students in this class will create fluorescent and glow-in-the-dark art! From sculptures lit by blacklight to paintings that glow, learn all about how light—or lack of light—can impact the art-making process.

✔️oUt the 55th Annual FOCUS Show poster, it’s packed edge-to-edge with names. Those aren't just names, they are the future painters, sculptors, and visionaries of the art world!
Think of this poster as a periodic table of raw creative energy. Every single student listed poured their heart & soul into all the artwork that will be on display!!!
