Marty Evans started Upstate Shooting Academy for the purpose of offering handgun shooting training. Marty has over 18 years of Law Enforcement experience, 10 of those years as a firearms instructor and over 20 years experience as a competitive shooter. He is currently certified as a NRA Basic Pistol Instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer and SC CWP Instructor. In competition, Marty was a member of t
he S.C. Govenor's Top Twenty Pistol Team for 9 straight years. This team is made up of the top twenty law enforcement shooters in the state. He has competed in combat and Glock matches over the years. He has attended 2 NRA National Police Shooting Championships and brought home several trophies. Marty has instructed law enforcement. EMS and CPR/First Aid Classes for over 20 years. Our CWP classes offer instruction in SC gun laws and meets all of the training requirements to apply for you SC Concealed Weapons Permit including fingerprinting.
