The backpacks are packed, the first day outfits are waiting and somehow summer has come and gone in the blink of an eye. 🥹
Tomorrow morning, we’ll wake up our babies, fix their hair, take approximately 700 pictures and send them off into a brand new school year! 📚
Some will walk through the doors excited to see their friends. Some will have butterflies in their bellies. Some will be ready to RUN into their classrooms, while others might need one more hug before they let go.
And us parents?
We’ll stand there smiling, waving and pretending we’re totally fine while secretly wondering:
How did you get this big? 🥹😭
Because it seems like just yesterday they were taking their very first steps, saying their first words, and needing us for absolutely everything.
Now they’re picking out their own outfits, carrying their own backpacks, making their own friends, learning things we don’t quite understand anymore (😂) and becoming little people with personalities, dreams, opinions, and stories all their own!
And as exciting as that is, there’s something a little bittersweet about watching them grow.
So tomorrow, take the picture and soak in every single moment of the morning chaos, because these ordinary mornings we’re rushing through right now? They’re the moments we’ll someday wish we could go back and hold onto for just a little longer 🥰
Here’s to a new school year filled with new friends, new adventures, BIG accomplishments, little victories, belly laughs, proud moments and memories they’ll talk about for years to come!
