Your next chapter in leadership starts here! ✨ The Alabama SNA Future Leaders Academy is accepting applications for its 2026–2027 class! From September 2026 through May 2027, participants will strengthen their leadership skills, learn more about ASNA, connect with school nutrition professionals across Alabama, and grow alongside fellow emerging leaders.

Participants will meet once a month via Zoom, take part in a group book study, and complete assigned readings and activities throughout the program. Applicants must be able to commit to the monthly meetings and program requirements and provide a professional reference from a supervisor or school-system leader.

📅 Applications are due September 4, 2026
💻 First Zoom Meeting: September 15 at 4 PM CST

One month down, and what a month it has been in the Duran Junior High cafeteria!

We kicked off the school year with our same amazing cafeteria crew, a brand-new serving line, the same great meals, and LOTS of new student faces joining our Duran family! ❤️

And, of course, you can’t make it through August in our kitchen without a few homemade roll adventures! Sometimes the dough decides it has places to be and starts rising faster than we can keep up with it! So, yes… sometimes you have to put the dough in timeout in the cooler just to cool it down and convince it to STOP RISING! 🥶😂

New faces. New line. Same crew committed to feeding our Panthers! 🐾

Here’s to surviving August, flour-covered hands, full trays, happy students, and a fantastic year ahead at Duran Junior High! 💛🖤

We had a GREAT first week of school at Eden Elementary. One of our newest team members, Amanda, enjoyed loving on one of the Eden students after they had finished eating their breakfast. She also had too much FUN learning to clean the ice cream box (it sure is a great way to escape the August heat).

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year at Eden Elementary!

The first full week of school is in the books at TLC! Last week was a great week! There have been ups and downs for our new little friends, but we made it to Friday all in one piece!
Our sweet students were able to have their first look AND their first taste of a healthy school breakfast and lunch.
We finished the week off strong with none other than, Fiesta pizza and it was a hit!
We are so excited for this school year with these sweet little ones!
Lunch time is the BEST time at TLC!

Welcome back everyone! We are so excited to see your smiling faces!
We have had some technical difficulties with the August 2026 menu but it is now live on the school system website.
Please join us tomorrow for sausage biscuits at breakfast and chicken nuggets at lunch!

Remember a strong finish requires a strong start; we have a team of expertly trained professionals who want to see your students start their day right with a nutritious school breakfast. Remember, each student gets a breakfast and lunch meal each day at no charge, so why not give it a try!

Great news again for Pell City families! For the 2026–2027 school year, Pell City Schools will once again participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. This means every student in our system can receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day at absolutely no cost to families.

That's two free meals a day, every school day, for every student. No applications. No paperwork.

We know how much of a difference this makes for our families, and we're honored to be able to offer it again this year. Just one more way Pell City Schools is working to support our students and the families behind them.

Lee County Schools Child Nutrition has been nominated as a finalist for the NxtGen Network Innovation Award! 🏆 Their incredible team has expanded scratch cooking across every kitchen this year, transforming school meals with homemade breads and rolls, oven-fried chicken with their own breading, breakfast casseroles, and more. 🍞🍗

Through standardized recipes and hands-on culinary training, Lee County has strengthened staff skills while redefining what students can expect from cafeteria dining. Their impact goes far beyond their own district — partnering with the state to provide live demonstrations, staff development, and best-practice training to help inspire other Alabama districts to adopt scratch cooking. 👩‍🍳
