Students must have an updated physical and bring all necessary equipment for tryouts.

We’ve loved welcoming our students back and seeing so many fresh, new faces at Duran! The halls are full again, routines are taking shape, and we’re excited about the year ahead.

We’re also excited to introduce some of the new faces joining our Duran faculty this year! One week down and so many great things ahead. Welcome to Duran, Panthers! 🖤💛

🏈 A familiar face. A new role. A new chapter for Duran Football. 🏈

Duran Junior High is proud to announce Coach Wendell Young as our new Head Football Coach!

Coach Young brings nearly two decades of coaching experience, with stops at Jacksonville, Anniston, Pell City High School, and Aliceville. His career has included serving as Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Co-Offensive Coordinator, and Assistant Athletic Director.

Most importantly, Coach Young is no stranger to Duran. He first joined our coaching staff in 2017 and returned to Duran in 2024. We are excited to see him step into this leadership role and continue investing in our student-athletes and football program.

Congratulations, Coach Young! We’re excited for what’s ahead! 🐾
