Something exciting is hatching! Alabama Extension is launching new Facebook and Instagram pages dedicated to all things backyard poultry.
Whether you already have a flock or are planning to start one, follow along for research-based information to help you care for healthy, productive birds.

To celebrate the launch and National Chicken Month, we’re hosting a Backyard Poultry Photo Contest! Share a photo of your favorite hen, prized rooster or entire backyard flock for a chance to win.

How to enter:
-Comment on this post with your photo.
-Follow the new Alabama Extension Backyard Poultry page.
-Like and share this post.
-Don't forget to also follow on Instagram.

Two winners will be selected:
-Judges’ Choice
-People’s Choice, awarded to the eligible photo receiving the most likes

🐴🏆 St. Clair County 4-H Horse Judging & Hippology Success! 🏆🐴

On Friday, May 29, Scottlyn, Aibrean, Avery, and Ava represented St. Clair County 4-H at the Alabama 4-H Horse Judging and Hippology Contest held at Auburn University, and they brought home some impressive accomplishments!

Horse Judging Contest Our Junior Team placed 3rd Overall, including: 1st Place Team Oral Reasons
• Ava earned 1st Place Individual Oral Reasons

Our Senior Team placed 1st Overall, including: 1st Place Team Oral Reasons
• 1st Place Team Judging
• Avery, Aibrean, and Scottlyn each ranked in the Top 10 individually in every component of the contest

Hippology Contest Our Junior Team earned 3rd Place Overall, with Ava placing in the Top 10 in every contest component.

Our Senior Team earned 2nd Place Overall, with Avery, Aibrean, and Scottlyn also placing in the Top 10 in every contest component.

We are incredibly proud of these young ladies and the dedication, hard work, and horse knowledge they demonstrated throughout the contests. Their success reflects countless hours of preparation and teamwork, and they represented St. Clair County 4-H with excellence, sportsmanship, and professionalism.

Congratulations on an outstanding day of competition! 💚🍀
