Congratulations to junior flute player, Elizabeth on her participation at the GMEA District 2 Honor Band! Elizabeth went through a rigorous audition process along side of students from our area and was accepted to perform with other other 11th/12th grade students at ABAC. The brand new ensemble prepared a concert in just and few hours and put on an amazing performance! Congratulations Elizabeth!

Congratulations to the four Pelham High School Band students selected to participate in this year’s University of Georgia JanFest! They were selected with 800 other top high school band students in the state. The PHS students were placed in 3 different bands all of which prepared a concert with only 8 hours of rehearsal. We also had time for some fun! We went on a COLD tour of UGA with a wonderful guide from the UGA Arch Society. Friday night, we went to a UGA GymDogs Gymnastics meet where UGA took down No. 2 LSU. Congrats to these students!

Semester Recap: November and December

-The Florida State Marching Chiefs hosted the Pride of Pelham for a late season practice. Students saw how a Division 1 college band practices setting drill for halftime and in a music rehearsal. Every member got the chance to watch practice from the Director’s view. They ended practice by letting our Drum Major, Elizabeth, conduct War Chant. After practice, the PoP members met the Marching Chiefs’ members in their sections.
-Two students attended the All State help day at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. While there, they worked with current music education students to prepare their auditions
-More college visits! Elizabeth attended the Auburn University Marching Honor Band and performed halftime in front of 86,000 fans. Jessie and Leilana attended the Tri-State Honor Band at Florida State University with students from Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.
-We ended the semester with our annual Christmas Party. We had lots of fun and are excited for another semester full of music and memories!d

Semester Recap: September and October
- Around 30 members attended the Georgia Southern University Southern Pride Marching Band High School Band Day. While there they practiced with the SPMB and performed during the game and at halftime.
-A very rainy homecoming parade and pictures with Buzz
-2nd block got to unbox the new uniforms!
- Pride of Pelham went to their first ever competition and took home Superior and Excellent ratings! Our students made some new friends with the host band too
-Halloween Concert and Trick or Treating
-All smiles after our last game, senior night, and a WIN

Semester Recap: July and August
-Worked hard and had lots of fun at band camp
-Took our last full band picture in the old uniforms
-Had a Columbus State University Schwob School of Music Percussion/Music Education to work with our percussionists on concert and marching technique as well drum maintenance
