PCS ConnectED is underway!

Our first class came together last night, and the energy and engagement in the room made it a great start! Participants began by meeting others in the group and discovering connections and common ground. They also learned more about Pelham City Schools through presentations on our school system, the role of the Board of Education, and how our schools are funded.

This is what PCS ConnectED is all about: bringing people together to build connections, encourage collaboration, and gain a deeper understanding of our school system. We’re looking forward to continuing the conversation and exploring different aspects of PCS each month!

Thank you to the Pelham City Schools Foundation for sponsoring PCS ConnectED and helping make this opportunity possible. We appreciate their support of our schools and community!

💦 Second Graders Make a Splash!

This school year, second graders from Pelham Oaks Elementary and Pelham Ridge Elementary have the opportunity to learn important swimming and water safety skills during the school day through the Pelham YMCA's Safety Around Water program. Students learn about water safety in the classroom and build confidence in the pool with YMCA-certified instructors.

PCS leaders and members of the Shelby County Legislative Delegation recently stopped by to see the program in action. Thanks to support from the legislative delegation, the program is offered at no cost to students or families.

We’re grateful for community partners who invest in our students and help us provide meaningful learning opportunities beyond the classroom!

The Pelham Park Middle School cross country team had a great showing at its first meet of the season with several athletes setting new personal records. The top three girls were Zoe, Amani, and Stella. The top three boys were Nolan, Kameron, and Finn. Zoe and Nolan both finished in the top 15, earning medals for the team!

And a big congratulations to Nolan! He broke a school record that had stood for 10 years, running 12:01 on the two-mile course!
