We study Creative Defense Systems under G**o Stanley Tippens, a student of the late Grandmaster Remy Presas.
This group was founded in 2009 by Manong Lawrence Wilder of Filipino Combat Systems and Creative Defense Systems. A group of like minded students and practitioners of the Filipino Martial Arts (FMA). These arts are also known as Escrima, Kali, and Arnis. They involve extensive weapons skills with the rattan stick, sword and knife. Also there is grappling(dumog), striking(panantukan), and kicking(sikaran) all integrated into a vast set of martial systems.
Kali Class is moved to Pelham Park near the volleyball court.

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be teaching at a second location in the Birmingham area starting April 14th! I’ve partnered with 5 Points Fitness to bring Filipino Martial Arts to downtown Birmingham.
🕕 Class Time: 6:00 PM
📅 First Class: Tuesday, April 14th
🎉 Intro Class: FREE (one time only)
Wear comfortable clothes, bring a curious mindset, and be ready to move and have fun.

Just a note for everyone.
Club class times will be from 10am to 11am and 11am to noon on Saturdays from this point going forward.
Prices are still $15/hour.
So starting this Saturday 18 October, see you all at 10am!!

No one got up and helped her. Remember that.
I just watched the full video of Iryna Zarutska losing her life…I’m heartbroken. This was taken right after she was stabbed. I will never forget this image and the fear in her eyes… No one got up to even help her. She bled out soon after…

Today I will be teaching my open hand Kali template that I taught in Texas.
This template is designed to teach real world applicable concepts that work for both armed and unarmed assailants. This template uses strikes to assist with disarms.
