The year long, Come and Learn AAC series for SLPs and their collaborating special education teachers concluded last week with a luncheon, reflective discussion, and sharing of ideas. Participants were able to expand their teaching resources and materials throughout the year with the ongoing learning sessions and access to Dynamic Therapy Associates’ resource platform.

A few highlights from our April ID Consortium meeting. Our fabulous consortium lead, Jessie Moreau, provided guidance in adapting grade-level books to make content accessible for students with limited cognitive abilities while maintaining alignment to grade-level standards.

Stay active in education: Coaching opportunities with Southwest GLRS

Are you looking for a way to share your expertise without the full-time commitment of the classroom? Southwest GLRS is looking for experienced educators to join us as coaches for our literacy initiative.

In this role, you’ll mentor participants as they learn to diagnose discrete reading skill deficits and utilize research - based interventions to remediate deficits these to help students become strong readers.

What to expect:

Flexibility: A manageable schedule of 30–40 days per school year.

Impact: You’ll travel within Region 16 to provide the objective, encouraging, and positive support our teachers need to thrive.

February was full of exciting events! We hosted What Makes a master Schedule Truly Effective, Navigating the Minds of Youth, ABA in the Classroom, Multi Sensory Teaching Strategies, and From FBA’s to Effective and Efficient BIPs. We also traveled to Middle Georgia RESA for day 2 of Coordinating the Psych. If your staff needs training in the area of special education, please reach out!
