Recently, our Health Science Juniors learned about biohazard cleanup by playing a game. The goal: students must, first choose what PPE to wear, then move each “contaminated” item from the “bloody field” to the “biohazard field” without dripping the “blood” and contaminating any clean area. Then they were to properly remove their gloves with no evidence of “blood” on their hands. Good practice for future health care leaders in OR or ER, especially.

Building, Coding, Collaborating, and Problem-Solving!

Mrs. Key’s Cyber Foundations II students have spent the past week learning about virtual programming logic and applying those skills through hands-on robotics!

Working in groups, students built VEX GO robots, designed their own mazes, and used block-based programming to guide their robots successfully through each course. Then, the real challenge began; groups switched mazes and had to analyze, program, test, and debug their robots to navigate a classmate’s design!

This activity allowed students to refresh their block-based programming skills while strengthening teamwork, creativity, computational thinking, and perseverance. Every wrong turn became a chance to debug, improve, and try again!

The first days back to school are all about getting reacquainted, building teamwork, and having a little fun—and our JROTC cadets are off to a great start!

This week, cadets hit the court for volleyball 🏐, took to the field for field hockey 🏑, and sharpened their teamwork, discipline, and attention to detail during Armed Drill practice 🇺🇸.

From sportsmanship to precision, our cadets are already demonstrating what it means to be part of a team. It’s great to see them back together, getting active, building camaraderie, and preparing for another outstanding year!
