The City of Pekin Beautification Committee, in partnership with the Pekin Marigold Festival Committee, invites you to help dress up the grounds during this year's Festival by participating in our first ever Flower Pot Showdown!

Hello Club Members and Friends:
September 14th will be our next Garden Club meeting at the Pekin Moose Lodge. We are meeting the second Monday as the first Monday is Labor Day. This will be our annual potluck. Please bring a dish of your choice to share. The club will provide the meat and drinks.
Our guest speaker for the evening will be Kelley from Hoerr Nursery. She will be talking about her company and their services, etc.
We will also need a few people to bring door prizes. Let me know if this is something you can do. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. 😃👏👌

Here are some more pictures of our evening visiting the Mackinaw Valley Winery. Thanks ladies for a wonderful evening and for the great pictures already posted. We had an awesome turnout with 29 members attending and a wonderful time! Also, thank you, Diane Hahn for being a fantastic host and for the wine tasting and chocolate pairing. Everything was excellent! 😁👏👌🍇🍫🍷

Monday night the club ventured to Mackinaw Valley Winery for a nice time of wine tasting and chocolate. Diane Hahn gave an informative message about the winery including a tour of the wine making.

Hello Friends,

This is a reminder that Monday, August 3rd is our trip to the Mackinaw Valley Winery. The cost is $20 per person and we will pay Diane when we get there. Please let me know if you are wanting to go and have not signed up yet. Remember to wear your T-shirt if you have one. Also, if you want to carpool, meet in the Pekin Moose parking lot at 5:30. The event goes from 6 PM till 9 PM. See you there. 😁👌

Hello Garden Club members and friends. Mark your calendars for August 3rd, 2026. We will be taking another field trip; this time to the Mackinaw Valley Vineyard. Diane Hahn will be hosting this event. This will be a tour of their facility and a wine tasting and chocolate pairing in the tasting room. The cost is $20 per person. It will go from 6 to 9 PM. We will meet at 5:30 to carpool in the Moose parking lot. If you do not choose to carpool, the address is 33633 State Rt 9 in Mackinaw Illinois.
I will need a headcount as soon as possible to let her know how many people to expect. I will also send out an email. Please let me know if you are able to attend as this should be a fun and interesting event. We look forward to seeing you there. 😄🍇🍷🍫

We had a fantastic time at Smith House Flowers in Tremont on Monday, July 6th! This is our third year visiting their location and it just keeps getting better and better! They have expanded their flower selection and have added vegetables and herbs. We had a wonderful time making dried flower basket arrangements to take home. They provided us with a nice charcuterie board along with fresh veggies, pita chips and hummus. Cookies and brownies, were available also. Water, lemonade and tea were served. I love how they work together as a family and even let the kids get involved! 😃 If you haven’t had a chance to schedule your visit, do so now. They have a wide selection of fresh growing flowers to pick from. Thank you so much Smith House Flowers, we can’t wait to see what you come up with next year. 😀👏🌺🌻🌼🌸👌
