The Ray-Pec School District continues to be recognized as a leader in the area of Real World Learning and Client-Connected Projects for students. The Kauffman Foundation recently shared a story about the 3-day workshop hosted earlier this month at the Ray-Pec LEAD Center.

The news story highlights teachers Sarah Renfrow, Stefani Russ, and Emily Craig, as well as Digital Media Coordinator, Jake Wingo (formerly the district's Community Partnership Director).

Building a Strong Foundation for CCP Implementation - Real World Learning The Real World Learning Team used the summer to create more robust peer networks among teachers, school counselors, instructional coaches, and RWL coordinators.

Update!

Tonight’s Softball 🥎 Jamboree has been cancelled. Stay cool out there!

Our community is under an excessive heat warning through Thursday night. Outdoor activities will be limited this week, and some athletic practices have been rescheduled for other times or locations.

Please send a water bottle with your student(s) to school!

The water bottles may be refilled during the day and prior to dismissal. This will be especially helpful for students who are riding the bus home, as most of our school buses are not air-conditioned. If your student has a longer bus ride, you may wish to make other carpool or car pickup arrangements during this excessive heat.

Tuesday is the first day of school for the Raymore Peculiar School District! Remember to SLOW DOWN in school zones!! All school zones are from 7:45 am - 8:45 am and 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm. All elementary school zones in Raymore have speed limits of 15 MPH, with the exception of Creekmoor Elementary and Bridle Ridge Elementary which has a speed limit of 25 MPH. Be patient with traffic congestions around the schools and help ensure our kiddos make it to school safely!

The big day is finally here! Welcome back to school! 🍎

On Thursday night the School Board recognized Student Elizabeth Burton. Elizabeth, an incoming junior at Ray-Pec High School, is the first student in the school’s history to be selected for the All-State Jazz Choir. She is pictured with Board Member Billy King.

The All-State Jazz Choir performed at the Missouri Choral Directors Association conference in July in Springfield, Mo. Students had to audition to be selected to participate in each of the honor choirs. Ray-Pec had many students participate in the summer honor choirs, but Elizabeth is the first from our district to be selected for the All-State Jazz Choir. 🎶

As Teacher of the Year, Brandon Ransom, had the opportunity to speak to all Ray-Pec staff members this morning during our convocation celebration. This was his message to everyone:

"Don't let the pressures outweigh the pleasures." 🖤💛

Photos from Raymore-Peculiar School District's post 08/14/2023

We kicked off the 2023-24 school year with a bang this morning! 💥 All Ray-Pec staff filled the high school gym for convocation and to celebrate the beginning of another wonderful school year.

"This morning, our celebration is all about the dreams of our students. Students are coming to us wanting to have a successful and meaningful life. That’s our mission. And that’s their dream. It is our job to make that dream possible. All of us, and I mean anyone in this room employed or in an elected leadership role of the Ray-Pec School District, has the duty to deliver on or support the mission of our school district. Everyone. Our theme for this year is that we are all 'Dreammakers.'"

At the end of the ceremony Superintendent, Dr. Mike Slagle, asked all staff who were committed to being "Dreammakers" for students to stand. What a scene. 🖤💛
